Information you submit to us

Event submissions

When you submit an event through our website, we collect the information you provide, which may include:

  • Event details (name, description, date, location or online link)
  • Accessibility information
  • Organiser contact details

This information is used solely to review and publish event listings on Gatherly. Submissions are reviewed before being made public.

Comments

If comments are enabled and you leave a comment on the site, we collect:

  • The information shown in the comments form
  • Your IP address and browser user agent string, to help with spam detection

An anonymised string (hash) created from your email address may be provided to the Gravatar service to check if you use it. The Gravatar privacy policy is available at:

Once approved, your comment and profile picture (if applicable) may be visible publicly.

Media uploads

If you upload images to the website, please avoid uploading images that include embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors may be able to download images and extract location data from them.

  • Comments and their metadata are retained indefinitely to help with moderation.
  • User accounts (if enabled) store the personal information provided in the user profile.
